I started volunteering as a freelance interpreter back in 2013, and finally got some work experience 2 years later. I've been doing freelance and privately contracted work for about two and a half years now. I have an advanced level fluency in Slovak, though I speak Czech and Russian very well also. The languages I've worked with most are Slovak and Czech, but because I'm in Moscow, I'm doing a lot of Russian right now. I prefer translating from other languages into English, but I'm willing to work either way.

Having moved here to pursue a career in academia, I studied Geography at King's College; I am therefore familiar with scientific and technical terminology. For the past five years, however, I have worked as a civil servant in local government, focusing on grant making. Assessing a wide variety of applications for funding, I come across obscure and specific vocabulary from a range of fields, often requiring further research into the subject of the bid. The next step is to synthesise this information into assessment reports, which I write on a daily basis. As these reports are presented to a Panel of elected representatives for consideration, my written form, grammar and punctuation must always be flawless, something I take great pride in.
