On rare occasions, machine translations (MTs) can generate an automatic translation with critical errors such as returning an empty string where translated copy should be, which can make the automatic translation process slightly longer than normal. While this is by no means a workflow bottleneck or even close, at Smartcat we are always looking for ways to improve your experience, and so, we have developed a backup MT engine setting.
Essentially, should your primary MT engine return critical errors, the backup engine can step in and ensure workflow continuity without any negative impact whatsoever on your translation quality or translation turnaround time!
Smartcat’s backup MT engine will be Google Neural Machine Translation. This new feature is a big step towards improving your MT experience on Smartcat and achieving 100% successful automatic pre-translation!
At Smartcat, we constantly analyze our platform in granular detail to see where we can improve. With this backup MT engine feature, we are taking something that was already a high-performing product into an even better, stronger, faster upgrade to support your translation workflow.
