I have been working as a language specialist since 2000, initially working in ESL/EFL teaching and international test preparation before focusing on Spanish to English translation (legal, energy, water, wine, mining, among others). I have gained experience working for the different ministries in Chile (ChileCompra, Foreign Ministry, Treasury, etc), along with numerous local and international companies (Codelco, AES Corp, Siemens, etc.), as well as local universities (UDEC, UBB, UDD), in documents ranging from a simple CV through to the contracts, manuals and university papers. I have also been fortunate enough to translate several books including No return Guaranteed the fascinating story behind the rescue of Ernest Shackleton's crew from Antarctica. I have translated ever since my college graduation. I translate in the combinations Spanish-English, and German-English. I specialized in translating contracts, novels, certificates, certifications, wills, deeds, court sentences. Furthermore, I have translated for mining and drug companies. I work on projects concerning to drug information, medical reports, drug test results, leasing of mines, information about minerals, among others. Furthermore, I have translated novels, and poetry books. I love what I do. Currently, I am learning Portuguese and French in order to be able to translate from those languages to English.

With a Master's Degree in the Spanish Language and Literature from Middlebury College, VT, I consider myself to be a grammar expert, in addition to being fluent in the language. I had study abroad experiences in Mexico prior to living in Madrid during graduate school. In 2010 I spent the Winter-Spring semester traveling throughout Argentina and homeschooling my then 3rd grade son and 7th grade daughter. Also in 2010, I began a summer language immersion program, True Immersion, LLC, in Sevilla, Spain for American teens - which continues today. I am highly proficient in Italian - primarily self-taught - but have also studied at the Lorenzo de Medici and Centro Firenze language schools in Florence over the last 14 years.
