I have 31 years of experience teaching and tutoring all levels of Spanish. With a Master's Degree in the Spanish Language and Literature from Middlebury College, VT, I consider myself to be a grammar expert, in addition to being fluent in the language. I had study abroad experiences in Mexico prior to living in Madrid during graduate school. In 2010 I spent the Winter-Spring semester traveling throughout Argentina and homeschooling my then 3rd grade son and 7th grade daughter. Also in 2010, I began a summer language immersion program, True Immersion, LLC, in Sevilla, Spain for American teens - which continues today. I am highly proficient in Italian - primarily self-taught - but have also studied at the Lorenzo de Medici and Centro Firenze language schools in Florence over the last 14 years. I came a little late to translating... I spent a few years trying out different careers. I worked as a legal assistant, a bookkeeper, an office manager, an HR representative, even a restaurant manager... all before I found my calling. While I sometimes wish I had gotten into translation sooner, I'm thankful that I was able to experience such a wide variety of positions. It makes me a stronger translator, as I'm well versed in the vocabulary used in such widely different positions. Now, I'm able to put all of those various skills to use, helping others to communicate with the best, most natural translations possible.

I offer over a decade of experience specializing in Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian to English translation, localization, subtitling, and interpretation. Prior work includes translating for Google, The New York Times, A-list celebrities, Fendi, EU-funded research projects, National Geographic docuseries, UNICEF videos, Dario Gioè's Journey to the Center of a Millennial, and localizing marketing materials and websites for international hotel chains. Finally, I've interpreted for the United States Anti-Doping Agency, immigration attorneys, asylum seekers, market researchers, and medical patients.
