I am a languages student from Northern Ireland, studying Spanish and Portuguese. I may not be fully qualified, but I am now looking to fill my time with more translation due to the fact that I had to return home during my Erasmus year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. I still am continuing with my classes from my host university (Porto, in Portugal) and am currently studying a translation module so I am familiar with CAT software and the proper protocol for translation.

I am a recent graduate living in Germany. I enjoy translating on the side both as a hobby as well as a steady source of income. I consider Russian, English and French as my mother tongues. Furthermore, I am a fluent speaker of German, Turkish, Italian and Spanish and gladly translate from these languages.

I'm a native English speaker from Forestville, New York, USA. I have a B.A. degree in International Business and Spanish from Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. I've been living Spain since September 2011 and I am bilingual. Since March 2015, I've been working as a translator (Spanish to English) and editor for a popular technology website, working with texts related to business, video games, and computer software. I have extensive experience working on translation and proofreading projects, including textbooks, questionnaires, blogs, short stories, and thesis papers. I am self-motivated, hardworking and detail-oriented. I always strive to do my best in every situation and give 100% to every project I work on.

I have been working as a language specialist since 2000, initially working in ESL/EFL teaching and international test preparation before focusing on Spanish to English translation (legal, energy, water, wine, mining, among others). I localize online, marketing, commercial and PR content to help give clients direct access to the English-speaking market, specializing in the tourism industry. My extensive translation experience includes tourism websites, legal documents, rental contracts, social media articles as well as literature, having translated my first book last year (2016). I also provide English editing/proofreading services in collaboration with non-English native translators in other language pairs. I also have experience acting as a volunteer interpreter in emergency medical situations among a community of expats in Ecuador.

I was lucky enough to travel the world and live in many countries, finishing school in U.A.E. and later attending the university in Greece following a job contract in the USA. My knowledge of languages from the native perspective allows me to translate at top notch quality.

I came a little late to translating... I spent a few years trying out different careers. I worked as a legal assistant, a bookkeeper, an office manager, an HR representative, even a restaurant manager... all before I found my calling. While I sometimes wish I had gotten into translation sooner, I'm thankful that I was able to experience such a wide variety of positions. It makes me a stronger translator, as I'm well versed in the vocabulary used in such widely different positions. Now, I'm able to put all of those various skills to use, helping others to communicate with the best, most natural translations possible.
