My name is Vanessa Walsh and I'm currently working as a freelance translator and language teacher in Bavaria, Germany. I have an MA in Translation Sciences from the University of Heidelberg in Germany and a BA from Queen's University in Canada in Foreign Languages and Intl. Studies (French/German). I grew up in Ontario, Canada, and English is my mother language. I have many years of immersion in my source languages, years of uninterrupted translation experience, and an excellent command of English, my target language. I specialize in medical translation. I work on projects concerning to drug information, medical reports, drug test results, leasing of mines, information about minerals, among others. Furthermore, I have translated novels, and poetry books. I love what I do. Currently, I am learning Portuguese and French in order to be able to translate from those languages to English.

I am a very experienced German, Spanish and French-speaking translator, localiser, proof-reader and editor of written texts from a wide variety of areas from those languages into English. I also have some experience in translating from English into German. I produce reliable and high-quality work within the fields of energy, industrial manufacturing, marketing, market research, sales, the environment, and also automotive, electrical, machine and plant engineering. To expand my skills and knowledge, I lived in France, Germany, Poland and Spain for a total of approximately 7 years. I've been born to German-speaking Austrian parents but was raised in English-speaking Canada. Due to this fact and to the fact that I competed my Master's in Austria, I am fluent in both languages and am fond of translating from German into English.
