I have been doing translations since 2006. I'm also running a translation agency, however that's a separate business, and you can be sure that all translations at smartcat are done by me personally. I am a certified translator, conference interpreter, engineer and Candidate of technical sciences (kandidat nauk). My language-related hobbies include etymology and comparative linguistics. * Yes, I do speak several languages. * No, I am not fluent enought in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Polish, Azerbaijani or Arabic to translate TO these languages, but I do understand them enough to translate FROM them.

Having majored in English Translation and Interpreting, I graduated from Abant Izzet Baysal University. After translated and proofread almost all kinds of texts including news reports, short stories, articles in Physics and Fine Arts, advertising copies, operating manuals etc., I have specialized in translation of medical texts such as radiology reports, discharge summaries, operative reports and pathology reports. In addition, I have received Post-Editing Certification from SDL, thanks to which I have post-edited over 500k words. So, I am be able to approach to translation from so many different angles to understand correctly, process deeply and translate functionally the texts of my customers to other language as a result of having gained valuable experience in several fields. I am a localization professional. I've worked with major accounts for 7 years. I set out towards Trakya University for my education on Translation and Interpretation. Taking an active role in the efforts of Trakya University Translation Club (TÜÇEV) and The Union of Translation Students (TÜÇEB), I was graduated in 2012. After working as a freelance translator for a while, I had localization training in ES Academy for 1 year. After completing my training, I took part in the translation projects of major software companies as an in-house employee of ES Language Services.Currently I have been working on the projects of major software companies. I can define myself as a researcher who seeks the foundation of science and technology, and deals with developing it with an innovative approach to put forward a reasonable solution. To refer to my educational background, I completed my BSc and MSc studies in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Sakarya University, Turkey, in 2005 and 2007, respectively. I was awarded a scholarship by Turkish Government to study PhD abroad in July 2007. After taking English course in Brighton, UK, and getting the sufficient IELTS score, I started to study PhD in the end of January 2008 in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester in the UK completing with a distinguished thesis in October 2012.
