My Freelance Translator Journey Before putting an end to my career as an officer in the Army I had chance of doing great volume of translation works at the highest HQ of Army for 7 years from English to my native language, Turkish, in the area of military, security, defense, international security, arms control, disarmament, peacekeeping operations, peace support operations and crisis management. Besides that experience as a translator I worked at United Nations Lebanon mission (UNIFIL) Operations Center which is one the most important and longest missions of United Nations in the context of peacekeeping that gave me priceless experience on crisis management, peacekeeping, peace support and international security and its of course terminology. Not only this honorable mission did gave me experience but also I organised many events and attended at many meetings, workshops, seminars, events and courses in the area of disarmament and arms control in United Nations, OSCE and NATO.

Working as localization specialist for major accounts in IT, marketing, ERP, technical and legal since 2015. Before being freelancer, I have worked in company which is exclusive SAP SE localization partner in Turkey. I took part in localization of corporate and legal texts as well as translation processes of the SAP SE systems. Aside from ERP, I have gained experience in IT, marketing and technical texts. I have been working with many national and international translation offices on Free Lance Basis particularly in Engineering, Marketing and Business Issues particularly experienced in Contracts, Tender Documents, Marketing Documents (Such as Avon, Hilton websites, bulletins and training documents), Hazardous Materials & Emergency Response Training Files for Ministry of Defense, and also Medical Documents like MSDS, various certificates for medical devices, various types of catheter manuals and some Mechanical Engineering issues such as manuals of some Pumps, Motors, Machines and on many other issues both for translation and proofreading. I am a localization professional. I've worked with major accounts for 7 years. I set out towards Trakya University for my education on Translation and Interpretation. Taking an active role in the efforts of Trakya University Translation Club (TÜÇEV) and The Union of Translation Students (TÜÇEB), I was graduated in 2012. I have been working as a professional translator since sophomore class. After having graduated from Bilkent University's Translation and Interpretation Department in 2002, I worked in several sectors including media and advertisement, while also continuing my profession as a freelancer. For 4 years from early 2003 to 2007, I served as Foreign News and Health Page Editor in national newspaper Tercüman.
