My Freelance Translator Journey Before putting an end to my career as an officer in the Army I had chance of doing great volume of translation works at the highest HQ of Army for 7 years from English to my native language, Turkish, in the area of military, security, defense, international security, arms control, disarmament, peacekeeping operations, peace support operations and crisis management. Besides that experience as a translator I worked at United Nations Lebanon mission (UNIFIL) Operations Center which is one the most important and longest missions of United Nations in the context of peacekeeping that gave me priceless experience on crisis management, peacekeeping, peace support and international security and its of course terminology. Not only this honorable mission did gave me experience but also I organised many events and attended at many meetings, workshops, seminars, events and courses in the area of disarmament and arms control in United Nations, OSCE and NATO.

I am a passionate and experienced translator, who has a degree in French-English-Turkish translation and interpretation. I have also lived in Germany for 4 years and can translate from German to Turkish. I am working as a full-time translator at the Ministry of Justice in Turkey. I also work at the Turkish Standards Institution as a part-time language expert and translate EC and ISO standards into Turkish. As a passionate linguist, I made my debut in the translation and localization world in 2014, when I was only a freshman in the university. I started as an intern and ended up to be freelance translator at SDL Turkey for 2 years. During this period of time, I gained immense amount of experience and I learned how to use multiple translation tools. Following that, I worked for a transcription company and made transcriptions of voice records both in English and Turkish. Finally, I started working with Localex in 2017 and that was one of the best decisions I made regarding my profession. During my time in SDL plc. and Localex I made translations, reviews and proof-reading in a wide variety of fields such as law, IT, marketing, legal, medical, gaming. During my time in the university, I took translation classes on many different fields and I also added knowledge of German and Spanish to my arsenal. Verified by Localex.

I started my career in the translation and localization field working as a vendor translator for SDL plc. when I was at Boğaziçi University. During that time, I completed several projects and gained experience mostly in technical translation (automotive and manufacturing). In 2017, I started my first full-time job as a translation project manager and carried out project management and quality assurance tasks for almost a year. In 2018, I was hired by a software company, JotForm, as a full-time English-Turkish translator. For 1.5 years, I translated a wide variety of content including JotForm's website, landing pages, products, inspirational blog posts, and mobile app into Turkish, which helped me gain immense experience in software localization and marketing fields, and knowledge in HTML language. I have recently decided to continue my career as a freelancer. I am currently working with several language service providers and providing high-quality translation and localization services.

My native language is Turkish. I can translate from Turkish to English, Russian, Italian and vice versa.
