Hi, I am Mücahid, mostly called Muco for short :). I am a freelance translator with 2 years of experience. I have been speaking English for 17 years and French for 6 years. I am a huge books and movies nerd, and I am not just saying that, I love Star Wars Saga, Pulp Fiction (actually, nearly all movies made by Tarantino), Godfather, City of Women and a lot more... I also love rock. To begin with groups, Black Sabbath, Ghost, Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin, and more. Besides that, I went to Medical High school, so I am familiar with latin terms. I also lived in Paris, France for 6 months. During that time, I studied at Sorbonne. I visited Louvre, Picasso, Rodin, many many bookstores, libraries and Eiffel Tower, obviously :).

As a passionate linguist, I made my debut in the translation and localization world in 2014, when I was only a freshman in the university. I started as an intern and ended up to be freelance translator at SDL Turkey for 2 years. During this period of time, I gained immense amount of experience and I learned how to use multiple translation tools. Following that, I worked for a transcription company and made transcriptions of voice records both in English and Turkish. Finally, I started working with Localex in 2017 and that was one of the best decisions I made regarding my profession. During my time in SDL plc. and Localex I made translations, reviews and proof-reading in a wide variety of fields such as law, IT, marketing, legal, medical, gaming. During my time in the university, I took translation classes on many different fields and I also added knowledge of German and Spanish to my arsenal. Verified by Localex.

I am a diligent and skillful linguist working in the English-Turkish language paired with expertise in IT localization, marketing localization, and technical translation. With the aid of theoretical knowledge and language skills that I gained during my bachelor's degree in Translation and Interpretation Studies and thanks to my experience in the industry, I deliver precise, highquality, and timely localization services within these fields.

I have been translating documents since 2007 for my permanent job as an educational consultant. And for the last 3 years i started to do it professionally. I have been working with Bureau Translations and translated for clients like NBA and Harley Davidson since 2 years. And also translating subtitles for Deluxe Digital Studios for almost 2 years, for clients like Warner, Netflix, Fox...

Working as localization specialist for major accounts in IT, marketing, ERP, technical and legal since 2015. Before being freelancer, I have worked in company which is exclusive SAP SE localization partner in Turkey. I took part in localization of corporate and legal texts as well as translation processes of the SAP SE systems. Aside from ERP, I have gained experience in IT, marketing and technical texts. During my career, I have also worked as a project manager for 9 months and managed projects for major companies from IT, marketing (mainly tourism and travel) and technical fields.

I'm graduated in translation and interpreting (Russian-Bulgarian and Turkish) at university.

I have Bachelor's Degree in Translation & Interpreting Studies at Yeditepe University in Istanbul. Since the beginning of my education at this department, I have done many translations in EN > TR and TR > EN language pairs. I did my internship at ES Language Services, which is the first localization company to be established in Turkey and is widely known in localization sector. I have gained experience in website localization, IT texts and some other fields I listed on my profile during my internship and my education. I also translate contents for two magazines in Turkey, Düşünbil and Libido, and a translation newspaper, which can be found on www.ceviriyoruz.org website. I am a medical doctor for more than 15 years. I have published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles in international scientific journals. Currently, I am working as a freelance translator. I am specialized in scientific article translation. I have completed several translation projects both English to Turkish and Turkish to English.

I have been a freelance vendor for various localization projects since 2013, mostly working with SDL, El Turco and Localex.
