Hi, I am Susana Vivas, a professional English-Spanish translator based in Argentina. I hold a Master’s Degree in Business Administration by the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas, one of the most prominent Universities in Spain. My name is Cristina Fernández and I am a full-time Spanish translator and proofreader. I hold a degree in Translation and Interpreting (University of Salamanca, 2012). I am native in Spanish (EU) and I am fluent in English and French. I have 10 years of experience, one as an in-house Project Manager for a Spanish Agency (McFelder Translations) and 9 as a freelancer, working with several agencies as well as direct clients (Booking.com, Amazon.com and others).

I am a Spanish cabin crew with extensive experience interacting with foreign people of all over the world, as a native Spanish speaker I translate from English to Spanish. I am a Colombian guy who is currently working in Russia, I have been here for more than 5 consecutive years. My native language is Spanish, I have learned English since my childhood and also because I do not live in Colombia, as a personal goal I decided to learn the Russian language, currently I have a good level in all three languages. Extensive experience working with texts of different formats, contracts, manuals, news, reviews, catalogs, websites, etc. Over the years of activity, I have successfully handled with different topics of materials, technical, legal, literary, sports, political and others. I have worked in-house as a PM and a translator both in Canada and in Argentina. I have been working with agencies around the world (China, US, Canada, France, etc.) for more than 15 years. Apart from having a translation degree, I have studied philosophy at the university, which provides me with additional tools that allow me to understand texts in depth and, most importantly, find the most accurate translation for every term because, after all, what is translation but giving a thing the precise name designated by a culture for it?

I enjoy translation for many reasons. I have always had an interest in foreign languages and cultures, so it is a pleasure for me to have the opportunity to work with them. I also find the process of researching a subject to ensure a solid translation to be particularly satisfying, as well as investigating the expressive possibilities of my target language, an aspect of the translation process that is often overlooked and yet an important element of the quality of the final product. I have experience using tools such as Trados or Memsource, as well as the various reliable reference sources for each language (DIEC; Treccani; RAE; Τριανταφυλλίδη...). The type of translation that most attracts my attention is literary, although I have extensive demonstrable experience in the field of technical translation (recent projects being for the nautical and stone industry). I'm a university certified English to Spanish translator with 7 years of experience in many fields, specialized in the IT, software, engineering, business, marketing, medical and legal/patents fields. Availability: I'm available full-time, Monday to Sunday. I work during the holidays and overtime as needed. Daily Capacity: Around 3,500 words (translation), 5,000 words (post-editing).
