I am a Russian native-speaking translator with over 8 years of experience in EN-RU translation, proof reading and editing. My translation career encompasses diverse areas, from movie industry (translating for Hollywood film stars (Jon Voight, Sammi Davis) to translating for roughnecks on drilling rigs in Siberia. This hands-on experience in various occupations, combined with technical background in survey & mapping, allows me to produce accurate, precise translations of even the most complicated texts. I have been working as a freelance translator since 2006, with more than 6 million words translated to date. I first started my translation career in mid 1980-ies with a few odd translation / interpretation jobs of a few months each. I then went on to work as a staff translator for the first Soviet-US JV White Nights in 1990 and continued to pursue this career with several other JVs and US companies until 2006, when I became a full-time freelance translator. Besides working as a translator during that period, I also held several other positions in procurement, logistics and administration at these companies, which subsequently proved to be a valuable source of knowledge for my work as an independent translator after 2006.

Except of my university education was 80% in English and I learned the basics of the translation in the directions of the international relations, politics, economics, finance, business communication, tourism and art, I have a significant experience with English as a Second Language and here is the list of some projects I was and being involved in as a translator at the moment: - Software Localization for users (textile sector, 54k words); - Translation of the business-related internal communications, various announcements for personnel and administrative media materials for the international tobacco factory (8 years); - Translation and editing of marketing materials for the international glass producer as well as localization of the e-learning course for personnel (totally 50k words): - News and Media translation for global energy company.
