Professional translator

I'm a System Engineer who loves languages and live in Brazil, I've worked as translator a few times, it's not my main profession but I certanly take care about the quality of my translations because of my love for right speaking and writing.

Thank you for taking a look at my profile. I’m an experienced translator for the pairs EN>PT-BR and ES>PT-BR, with many translation projects done. I'm a post-graduation professor and former IBM consultant, Brazilian, living in the metropolitan area of São Paulo. As a certified translator for the pair English into Brazilian Portuguese, I’m interested in new opportunities and starting long-term relationships. The fields I have done translation work include scientific articles, telecom, websites, ERP, legal, marketing, petroleum, engineering, technical manual, IT, software localization, HR, and other subjects. My current clients include Trip.com, LinkedIn, MasterCard, and Microsoft. I hold four degrees in Business Administration, a BA, two Master's degrees, and a doctorate from The University of Liverpool.

My passion lies in translation, entrepreneurship and helping people. After studying business administration at London Metropolitan University, I began my career working in finance, energy and telecommunications in Maputo, Mozambique. In 2013, I founded Navitas Group Lda, a company that aimed to disrupt the stagnant translation market in Mozambique. Mainly, I want to focus on using translation to facilitate communication between individuals and companies, as well as participating in entrepreneurial endeavors that catalyze socio-economic development. I have a depth of experience working in telecommunications, energy and new business development as well as 19 years of experience of translation and intercultural communication. I am currently pursuing a Masters in Translation and Localization Project Management at the University of Maryland, thus honing my translation skills, incorporating CAT Tools, MT and project management techniques into our company workflow and service delivery.

I taught English for 25 years. After retiring from school I started working with translations, editing and proofreading.
