After graduating in Specialized Translation from Italy's Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators, I spent several years working as a translator, interpreter, editor and language consultant for an NGO sponsoring medical and environmental research. I am now working as a freelance translator, editor, proofreader and language consultant. My clients include not-for-profit organizations, publishing houses and LSPs. I specialize in environmental issues, agriculture, agricultural technology, food & drink, medical texts and research (especially nutrition and endocrinology), botany, biology, cosmetics, and international organizations. I seek to broaden my horizons by working together with clients as prestigious and enthusiastic as my current clients. I am Giovanni Santonastaso, at the moment based in South Italy. I am an interpreter and a translator and I can speak Italian, English, Chinese and French. I have a Bachelor's degree in Intercultural Communication, a Master's degree in Scientific and Technical translation and Interpreting, and a one-year Master's degree in Global Marketing. I currently work as a Junior Export Manager, therefore I am familiar with market-related documents. In addition, I am about to complete a professional course in legal and commercial translation with the language pairs EN>IT, RU>IT. I am professional, friendly and extremely helpful. My main aim is to ensure an efficient and optimal work, in accordance with customer requirements.

I am a young, Italian freelance translator working with English and Russian. Over 15 years of experience in the field, having worked in Italy as a translator and proofreader and recently in Denmark as an in-house translator and editor.

I started my career 21 years ago as in-house translator and PM at a translation agency based in Turin, Italy. After three years, I decided to take up the challenge and become a freelancer, in order to devote myself to those texts I was most interested in. My experience as PM gave me a deep insight into all aspects related to the translation process, thus I perfectly know and understand the needs and expectations of Project Managers whom I work with. I am able to work under pressure, and manage large volumes of work with no prejudice to quality. I am able to translate very technical texts, like instruction manuals for X-ray inspection systems, but also to use my creative side to produce translations of content marketing articles.
