Since 2004 I participated in numerous projects translating and editing complete websites and handbooks for the technical and electronical industry, but also hotel prose. I translated and edited subtitles for several movies and documenteries. Three years I worked as fulltime Siri Data Analyst and Software Tester at Apple European HQ in Cork/Ireland, where I took part in tasks for testing and improving localization and speech recognition coding tools for the Austrian, German, and Swiss market.

Graduated with a Master's Degree in Automotive Engineering, I have more than 3 years post-graduate experience in the mechanical engineering industry. Established in July 2019 providing translations and related services between Dutch - English - German. Thorsten, the owner/consultant, has over 25 years experience working in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Contract Management and Customer Services for large and small (multi)national/multi-site private and public organisations; such as Philips Electronics NV, Dow Chemicals Ltd, Johnson Matthey Catalysts Plc, Local Government, NHS, Ubisoft, CEVA Logistics, Caterpillar, NSK Europe, Avaya and Teleperformance UK. Born and raised in The Netherlands to a Dutch mother and a German father, languages have always been a part of his life. At secondary school also studied French and Spanish, but these are not strong enough to provide translation services for. I’m a German-English Translator with a strong background in translating technical, general, medical, legal, marketing and business domain texts, writing for Meta description & Titles (SEO), articles blog posts, social media posts and other branded copy. Whether you need a formal, serious tone or a more playful one, I can make the transition with ease. I have done till C1.2 Level of German language from Berlin, Germany and hold Bachelor's degree in German Hons. I have studied English<>German translation as main subject for 3 years. As I have lived in Germany and Austria, I am having near-native German language skills and well aware of German culture. For around 6 years I have been engaged as full time professional German language expert in working directly with numerous German & Austrian clients (incl. Siemens, Volkswagen, BMW, Deutsche Post, Erste Bank, Vienna Insurance Group etc.), so I am accustomed to working with all sorts of German language related work including translations.

I'm on the chief editorial board of a magazine published both in German and English. I've been working as a Pro-Level translator on Gengo for about 3 years with about 400,000 words translated at this point. I've been working for EasyTranslate on larger projects around 75.000 words.
