Hi, I'm John Allan Roeser, an experienced translator with a proven track record in English to German and Dutch translations, and vice versa. I grew up in the Netherlands near the German border, attended a German school, and had friends from Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium, which allowed me to develop fluency in both German and Dutch. Since 2011, I've gained valuable experience in multilingual tasks through my work experience as both a BPO contractor and an in-house employee. I have provided translation services for various industries, including marketing, legal, technical, and medical fields. I had a few projects on Tolq but mainly worked here on Smartcat, where I've completed 410 projects to date. I began working as a freelance translator during my master studies at the University of Vienna in 2013. During this period I mostly did subtitling jobs for the Austrian Film Museum in Vienna. After my graduation in January 2015 I began to work with several translation agencies, specialising in tourism, arts and culture, legal texts, website translation, marketing and cosmetics.

Welcome! Languages are my passion! Translating is so fascinating, because it connects people from different continents and countries. I've been loving languages since my childhood. It's amazing to see the different terms and words in another language for the same matter. I started to translate from time to time in 2018, although I have a business and legal background, I've been always busy with languages and translating beside my job as a tax adviser, later on I managed a German-Taiwanese shipping company, all in English of course. I learned Russian in an extended way since my childhood, later on Persian and Turkish (this is the country, where I'm currently living.) You can participate from my experience and knowledge, my accuracy and reliability.

Having studied Dutch, International and European (Corporate and Commercial) Law in Maastricht on Master level and being half Dutch I'm able to master the Dutch language on a fairly high level. Also, I have achieved the official language certificate NT2 II which refers to level B2/C1 and is aimed at university level. My English skills are mirrored by two Cambridge Certificates (FCE and CAE which refer to the level B2 and C1) combined with 15/15 points for my Abitur-exam in 2012.
