I work as translator since 2008. My daily capacity is approx 2,000 - 3,000 words for translation, resp. 5,000 words for proofreading. It depends on the text. During my translation career I have worked with user manuals, technical documents, financial statements, computer games, marketing materials like PR, HR documens, leaflets, surveys, web pages, sport interviews, personal letters, books, travel guides etc... I do not translate natural sciences like physics, chemistry and law.

I am also experienced in website translations, product description and marketing translations. I can do upto 6.500 words a day. I studied BA Filmmaking in London. During my 11 years stay in London I started working as an interpreter for few companies. I was interpreting to clients in hospitals, clients in social services and on art exhibitions. I have been also tranlating and proofreading projects, documents and surveys from English to Czech, Czech to English, English to Slovak, Slovak to English in number of London based call centres, and other types of businesses and individuals. Already while studying my bachelor and Master's degree in translation, I got a few translation projects, mainly in the field of audiovisual translation. After my graduation, I started to profile as a literary translator + a translator of (popular) science books. Other than literary and audiovisiaul translation, I have experience with translating various manuals/handbooks and general texts. Apart from translating, I have spent the last 10 years giving language classes. My students usually make quite a big progress within a small amount of time, and start really using the language.

My name is Lada Zahlavova and I was born on 5th January 1981 in The Czech Republic. Languages have been my passion since the very childhood and so has been also biology and writing. I have been a freelancer since 2010. before that period I worked as a tour guide and a travel agency assistant. My main branches are teaching and translating. I have been translating professionally since 2011. Since then, I have translated almost 80 thousand words of various documents. I focus mainly on Electrotechnic, legal, IT- technology, medical and food industry. Concerning of the text materials, I am able to translate a website content, marketing texts, booklets, manuals and such forms of texts like product labels and lists of ingredients. :-D
