Starting as interpreter and translator during the balkan war, while studying German language in Zagreb, I moved 1995 to Austria, where I live ever since. I am Croatian and German native with profund knowledge of English language. In the meanwhile I was working in big international companies like European Telecom International, a company of Telefonica, and DHL. Since 2012 I am self-employed and work as translator and writer.
I am a Croatian translator with a Master's Degree in Translation (German, Russian). My previous experience has been in the Gaming industry, where I translated texts from Croatian and English to German, and wrote original content in German. I have a firm grasp of both German and English languages and no problems communicating complex ideas and understanding different kinds of texts. My previous position as a manager in a tourist agency, where I was responsible for booking and business correspondence, has made me familiar with business and tourism terminology in both German and English but also provided me with organizational, communication and time management skills. I also did a legal translation from Croatian to German for an individual client, where I delivered a fast and accurate translation of a source-text outside of my area of expertise. I am prone to detail and reliable. My main goal consists of delivering an accurate and efficient translation.
Educative and training skills. Potential to work as a professional in Croatia and abroad where English or German language is being learned as a foreign language. The mix of language learning, culture and literature enables a variety of cultural mediation roles – the capability of facilitating relationships between Croatian and foreign citizens both at home and abroad. The acquired skills enable professions that include educators, interpreters or organizers of cultural and educational events, as well as project management to cultural organizations, small and large businesses, the public sector, NGOs and language education. High level of communication and writing skills and creativity necessary for the development and implementation of successful and innovative projects both at home and in an international environment. Analytical, conceptual and critical skills that enable one to operate effectively in diverse fields of employment.
